Help centre: getting started and troubleshooting

Help for invited users of MakePerfectAds: getting started, import tips, choosing a language, fixing common problems, and how to contact support.

This help centre is for invited users making their first ads with MakePerfectAds, the AI video ad generator. It covers getting started, importing your product, choosing a language and fixing common problems. If you are still on the waitlist, you can join or check the waitlist; for a product overview, see how it works and the features page.

Getting started for invited users

Once you have been invited, getting your first ad takes a few steps. Sign in and start from a link or a photo.

  1. Sign in with Google. Accounts use Google sign-in, which is invite-only during the waitlist.
  2. Paste your website or product link, or upload a product photo (PNG, JPEG or WEBP, up to 5 MB) with a short description.
  3. Let MakePerfectAds read the page and work out what you sell and how your brand looks.
  4. Review the single confirmation screen: what it will advertise, the main image and thumbnails, the video language and an optional note.
  5. Choose your format and length, then let it plan and produce the ad.
  6. Watch the finished video, listen to the audio and read the captions before you use it anywhere.

Video creation may be paused while access opens in small groups. If creation is paused on your account, you can still import and set up an ad; see the changelog for the current state.

Import tips

A good import gives the ad a clear subject and strong images, so where you point MakePerfectAds matters.

Product page versus homepage

Start from a product page rather than a homepage when you can. A product page focuses on one item with its name, description and images, which gives a cleaner subject. A homepage often lists many products, so MakePerfectAds picks one focus and may ask a single pre-filled question to confirm what to advertise. If you sell one thing, either works; if you sell many, a product page saves a step.

Sites that block automated readers

Some sites block automated readers, so MakePerfectAds cannot read the page. If an import returns little or nothing, the site may be blocking access. Try a different page on the same site, or upload a product photo and a short description instead. The upload path does not depend on reading your site at all.

Large pages

MakePerfectAds reads the page directly without running its scripts, and on very large pages it reads the first portion of the content (roughly the first few megabytes). If a key product is far down a very long page, link to a more focused product page so the important details are near the top. This usually produces a more accurate ad.

Choosing a language

Pick the language on the confirmation screen before the ad is planned. MakePerfectAds supports a wide range of languages and regional varieties, plus mixed styles like Hinglish. English (US) and English (India) are the most thoroughly verified; other languages are supported by the voice provider, so listen to the voiceover before publishing. A few languages are caption-only with no voice. Captions are available in many writing systems, including Latin, Devanagari, Arabic right-to-left, Tamil and Bengali; Chinese, Japanese and Korean captions are not available yet. See the languages guide for the full picture.

Troubleshooting

Most problems come from the import or the review step. Work through these before contacting support.

Problem Likely cause What to try
Import returns little or nothing The site blocks automated readers Try another page, or upload a product photo and description
Wrong product is featured A busy page with many products Import a focused product page, or answer the focus question
Key details missing Important content is far down a very large page Link to a more focused product page
Voiceover sounds off A less-verified language or variety Listen before publishing; pick a verified variety if it matters
Captions look wrong A writing system check, or an unsupported script Review captions on screen; note CJK captions are not available yet

The automatic checks on a finished video cover technical quality, facts and links, and language, but they do not judge whether an ad is persuasive, so always watch the result yourself before you use it.

Contact support

If something is still not working, email [[support email to be confirmed]](mailto:[support email to be confirmed]) with your account email and a short description of what you did and what happened. Frequently asked questions

I was invited but cannot make a video. Why?

Video creation can be paused while access opens in small groups. You can still sign in, import your product and set up an ad; the final production step may be unavailable until your group is opened. Check the changelog for the current state, and contact [[support email to be confirmed]](mailto:[support email to be confirmed]) if something looks wrong on your account.

Should I import a product page or my homepage?

Import a product page when you can. It focuses on one item with clear images, which gives MakePerfectAds a cleaner subject. A homepage usually lists many products, so MakePerfectAds picks one focus and may ask a single question to confirm. If you sell only one product, either page works.

My import came back almost empty. What happened?

The site probably blocks automated readers, or the key content sits far down a very large page. Try a different, more focused page on the same site, or skip the import entirely and upload a product photo (up to 5 MB) with a short description. The upload path does not rely on reading your site.

Can I edit the video scene by scene afterwards?

No. MakePerfectAds does not offer a timeline or scene-by-scene editor. You confirm details and can regenerate the plan, but you do not assemble clips. If the result is not right, adjust your inputs or the language and generate again, then review before publishing.
